Guestworker Organizing Summit
On August 12, 2006, in its office in Zacatecas, Mexico, Centro de Derechos del Migrante (CDM) held a day long strategy session on guestworker organizing.
Representatives of the AFL-CIO Solidarity Center, SEIUGlobal Partnerships, the Farm Labor Organizing Committee, the United Farm Workers of America, Tlachinollan (Mexico-based human rights organization), ProDESC (Mexican economic, labor & cultural rights organization) and the Mexican labor movement attended the session. The meeting was facilitated by Jennifer Hill, law student and long-time union organizer, with assistance from Anna Fink (Phoenix Fund) and Rachel Micah-Jones (CDM)
