Julia Coburn Joins CDM On A Dr. Aizik Wolf Human Rights Fellowship!
Julia has just completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago, where she majored in Anthropology and Latin American Studies. Her internship with CDM in the summer of 2008 inspired the topic of her senior thesis: "Documenting Rightlessness: Theoretical Perspectives on Mexican Illegality within the United States H-2 Guestworker Program", which explores the ability of temporary labor programs to address the legal rights of migrant workers. Julia is excited to return to CDM in July 2009 as a Dr. Aizik Wolf Human Rights Fellow, where she will continue to research the impact of guestworker programs through the Justice in Recruitment Documentation Project. Although Julia will dearly miss playing ice hockey during those cold Chicago winters, she’s hoping to field a CDM soccer team while in Zacatecas!
