The Senate voted today 69-29 in favor of Leahy amendment 1183, which includes the Corker-Hoeven border surge provisions. In the last few days, the immigration bill in the Senate has gained significant bipartisan support as a result of these provisions.  The Senate then voted 67-31 on a motion to close debate on the substitute bill.  A vote by the entire Senate on the immigration bill is expected as early as tomorrow.
